Quantum Computing 0-100
Quantum computers are around the corner and is right now a fast-emerging field with various uses from factoring, sorting and other scientific applications. Today, quantum computers and simulators are accessible by anyone around the world. This tutorial will cover the basic concepts of quantum computing – qubits, quantum gates, the concept of making measurements, preparing bell states, concept of oracles and quantum computing with oracles, Grover’s algorithm and extending it beyond a simple quantum search. To conclude the session, we will briefly introduce and demonstrate quantum machine learning and demonstrate this through VQE (variational quantum Eigen solvers) that are used to make estimates of energy levels and bond lengths. All demonstrations and codes will be coded using Qiskit.

Survival Optical Networks
Dynamic light path protection in survivable WDM networks requires finding a pair of diverse routes (i.e., a primary route and a backup route that are link-disjoint) that form a cycle upon the arrival of a new connection request. The hybrid adaptive survivability algorithm that combines the positive effects of both restoration and protection. The overall goal of the proposed approach is to improve the restoration efficiency by providing a trade-off between proactive protection and dynamic restoration. Experimental results based on the ns-2 network simulator and analytical model show that under high loads, the proposed algorithm achieves significantly lower blocking probability than the conventional survivable techniques.
