Abstract:

This session will cover the basics of quantum communication. It will provide an overview of the theory and discuss some popular protocols used in Quantum communication – Super dense coding, Quantum Teleportation and Quantum Key Distribution.

Bio:

Rohit Ramakrishnan is a PhD Scholar in Applied Photonics Lab, Department of Electrical Communication Engineering, Indian Institute of Science Bangalore. He is working on Photonic Quantum Computing with Prof. T Srinivas. Rohit has done his B.Tech in Electronics and Communication Engineering from College of Engineering Trivandrum, Kerala and Masters in Photonics from International School of Photonics, CUSAT. He was previously Research Assistant at the Centre for Quantum Technologies, National University of Singapore, where he worked on the Quantum Satellite project. Before that, he had worked in the Quantum Optics research group in Australian Defence Force Academy as a Postgraduate researcher, where he worked on Quantum Homodyne Tomography for Photon Detection. He is one of the co-authors of the book “Quantum Internet – The Second Quantum Revolution”, which will be released by Cambridge University Press later this year.
