Biography:
Dr. G. V. Anand is a highly respected academic and researcher in the field of Electrical Communication Engineering. His illustrious career spans decades, with significant contributions to signal processing, ocean acoustics, and nonlinear dynamics.
Educational Background:
• B.Sc. (Physics), 1962; M.Sc. (Physics), 1964 — Osmania University, Hyderabad
• Ph.D., 1971 — Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore (under Prof. B. S. Ramakrishna)
Academic Career at IISc:
• Dr. Anand joined the Department of Electrical Communication Engineering (ECE) at IISc in 1969 as a Lecturer and became Professor in 1972.
• Over the years, he rose to prominent positions within the department, including Professor, Chairman, and eventually Dean of the Faculty of Engineering.
• His tenure at IISc continued until 2006, during which he made significant contributions to both research and education.
• Dr. Anand has authored over 140 peer-reviewed research papers, contributing to the advancement of knowledge in his areas of expertise.
