Biography:
Dr. James Jacob joined the ECE department, IISc as a lecturer in May 1988. He then got promoted to Assistant Professor in May 1993 and served until July 1999.
After his tenure at IISc, he worked at Intel (Aug 1999- May 2003), Principal at Rajagiri School of Engineering and Technology (May 2003- July 2004) and then Dean (R&D) at Amal Jyothi College of Engineering (Feb 2007- Dec 2017).

Personal Life & Education:
• BSc (Physics) from Loyola College Chennai (1977-1980)
• BE in ECE, IISc Bangalore and Ph.D in VLSI CAD, IISc Bangalore (1980-1988)
