Biography:
Prof. Ramakrishna completed his Bachelor’s degree from Andhra University and Master’s degree in Physics from Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi. He did his PhD in Acoustics from the Illinois Institute of Technology, Chicago, USA, in 1949.He joined the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) in Bangalore as a Lecturer in the ECE Department, IISc in 1953, and later became the Chair of the ECE Department. His research areas were acoustics, vibrations, and sound systems. Later, he served as the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Hyderabad.
He played the key role in designing the acoustics of Golden Jubilee Hall in the ECE departemnt.

Career Highlights:
He served as the chair of the ECE department, IISc from 1969 to 1974.
