Biography:
V. U. Reddy received his B. E. and M. Tech. degrees from Osmania University, Hyderabad, and his PhD from the University of Missouri, USA. He held various academic and industry positions throughout his career. He served as an Assistant Professor at IIT Madras (1972–1976), a Professor at IIT Kharagpur (1976–1982), and a Professor at Osmania University (1982–1988). He was a Professor at the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore from 1988 to 2001. After his time at IISc, he became Chief Scientist at Hellosoft India Pvt. Ltd. from 2006 to 2008 and also held a Chief Scientist position at HelloSoft, Inc.. Additionally, he was a Microsoft Chair Professor at IIIT, Hyderabad (2003–2005), an Institute Professor at IIIT, Hyderabad (2007–2010), and an Honorary Professor at IIT, Hyderabad (2013–Present). From 2010 to 2012, he was a Distinguished Professor (Emeritus) at the CR Rao Advanced Institute of Mathematics, Statistics and Computer Science.
