Would accomodation and food be provided for this summer school and workshop?

Outstation students will be provided local accomodation and food (breakfast and lunch alone) will be provided at the summer school venue for all attendees.

Will my travel and lodging expenses be covered?

1. Students will be reimbursed for travel by train - 3rd A/C or equivalent - upon production of ticket and fare receipt, subject to an upper bound of Rs.1750/-.
2. Students' stay (students at Akshara Lodge, Jawahar Visitor's House, and Hoysala House) will be covered for the nights of 19th, 20th, 21st, 22nd, and 23rd (checkin - Sunday 19th, checkout - Friday 24th).
3. If you are staying on the night of 24th, you will have to pay for that night's stay.

I want to stay on the 24th night and checkout on the 25th. What do I do?

For all those who have requested an extra day of accommodation, we have tentatively booked your accommodation for the 24th night as well. Kindly confirm with the reception, and pay for the night's stay.

I am not a student. Will my lodging and travel be reimbursed?

No. While we have made all the accommodation arrangements, we do not have the funds to pay for either your travel or your accommodation.

Will there be transportation from the place of stay to the summer school venue?

No. Please find your own way to the venue. Distances are as indicated, all walkable.

Will Wi-Fi be available?

Yes.

Are the registrations for the summer school (20-23 July) and the workshop (24 July) separate?

No. There is a single registration that covers both.

When and how can I register for the summer school and the workshop?

Registration opened on March 15th, 2015. Please check the registration page for latest information.

Will I receive any certificate for attending this summer school and/or workshop?

Yes, we will provide a participation certificate to those who need one.

Do I need to submit a paper to attend this summer school and/or workshop?

No. You just need to register through this website.

How do I submit a paper to the conference/workshop/school? How do I organize a special session?

You cannot. There will be NO contributed paper presentations and NO organization of special sessions at the summer school.

After I submit the payment information, how long will it take for the status on the registration page to change from "pending" to "paid"?

We will update the information within 2 business days. If not, please write to us at jtg@ece.iisc.ernet.in with your contact information and payment details.

Who is eligible for participation in this summer school and workshop?

Registration is based on first come first served. Anyone who registers and pays for the registration is eligible for participation.

Is it still possible to register for this summer school and workshop?

Unfortunately, summer school is already oversubscribed, and no new requests can be acommodated. However, the lectures of the summer school are likely to be recorded and shared on the web.
