Prof. Anurag Kumar receives 2017 IEI-IEEE Engineering Excellence Award

Prof. Anurag Kumar has received the 2017 IEI-IEEE Engineering Excellence Award jointly established by the Institution of Engineers India (IEI) and the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) in recognition of his engineering contributions par excellence. 

The Jury comprising eminent engineering professionals recognized Prof. Kumar’s outstanding contributions in communications, computer networking, wireless sensor networks and internet of things as well as in training high quality researchers. 

Prof. Anurag Kumar is currently the Director of the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) and a Professor in the Department of Electrical Communication Engineering at IISc. His area of research is in communication networking, specifically, modeling, analysis, control, and optimization problems arising in communication networks and distributed systems.  He has been elected Fellow of the IEEE, the Indian National Science Academy (INSA), the Indian National Academy of Engineering (INAE), the Indian Academy of Science (IASc), and The World Academy of Sciences (TWAS). He is also a J.C. Bose National Fellow, awarded by the Department of Science and Technology, for the period 2011-2021.
