The 5G Testbed at IISc: Past, Present and Future : Abstract: In this talk, we will start with an overview of 5G, its key features, and what is involved in developing a standards-compliant open-source protocol stack for 5G cellular communications. Following this, we present the current 5G testbed at IISc, its components, capabilities, and performance, and highlight original contributions to the open-source community from IISc. We also provide illustrative examples of how the testbed can be used to unearth, solve, and evaluate solutions to interesting questions that arise in practical cellular communication systems.
