Call for Nominations

SPCOM has always endeavored to promote a strong research culture among the students. As part of this effort, SPCOM 2020 has instituted the "Best Doctoral Dissertation Award" to identify and reward high-quality doctoral dissertations in the broad areas of interest to the conference

Students who have successfully defended their Ph.D. theses during June 1, 2018 -- June 15, 2020, both dates included, are eligible to be nominated for the award.
The nominator must be the Ph.D. advisor or the Head of the department or institute where the student carried out the research work.

Instructions for submitting the nomination:

  1. Fill up the nomination document and print it to PDF
  2. The nomination package must be submitted as a single merged PDF file only containing the following in order.
    • PDF of the nomination document
    • PDF reprints of the top four papers (journal/conference publications)
    • PDF of the thesis
  3. The filename of the merged PDF file should be <Nominee’s First Name followed by the date of defense in ddmmyy format>.pdf. For example, if Mike is the first name of the nominee and the date of defense is July 23, 2019, the filename should be Mike230719. Individual PDFs, zip/rar attachments will not be accepted.
  4. Total attachment file size should not exceed 20 MB. Compress the PDF, if required, using online compression tools.
  5. The award winners, selected by an expert committee, will be asked to upload a 20-minute video highlighting their doctoral research.
